VSTAR x0 Series
United Digital is proud to introduce its VStar range of Virtual Tape Libraries.
Virtual Tape Library (VTL) is an archival storage techno-logy that makes it possible to save data as if it were being stored on tape although it is actually stored on hard disk. Benefits of virtual tape systems include much better backup and recovery times and lower operating costs.
Utilizing disk storage as tape hardware allows integra-tion of VTLs with existing archiving policies and backup software.
United Digital VStar solutions use SATA II disks as the primary storage component due to their relatively low cost.
The data stored on the VStar series can be exported to United Digitals 2UD offsite storage facility for disaster recovery purposes.
